Evergreen & Kittredge Shopping Guide (from a local)
I’ve been been intentionally shopping local in Downtown Evergreen, Colorado and surrounding areas (Kittredge, Idaho Springs, and Morrison) now for two years. I always try to shop local, my style is very Colorado and I love feeling abundantly happy with my purchases, not regretful. Don’t we all?
WARNING: This list is completely subjective, meant to save you from any regrets, and my opinion only. With that said, if you’re looking for clothes, gifts and goodies that you’ll treasure forever without breaking the bank – here’s your guide to shopping in Evergreen and Kittredge.

Black Fox is one of the most magnificent shops you will likely ever step foot in… don’t care if you go to Europe, NYC or Milan – Black Fox is up there. Filled with goodies made right here in Colorado, the owners of Black Fox (Julie & Chris) are on a mission to show you all of the home goods, food, and jewelry and leather goods (like ours) created right here in the C-O. Don’t miss their fresh sour dough bread drops, food share program and summer Thursday night concert series!
Oma’s House, Evergreen CO (across the street from Black Fox)
Oma’s House
Kiah, the owner, created Oma’s House in memory of her grandmother. “I wanted to capture the way she made me feel, and the way I felt when I walked into her house,” Kiah told me once.
Oma’s House is bursting with gifts for everyone on your list (you, being first on that list, I hope), like merch from CO74 (the coolest Evergreen & Kittredge-related merch you can find. She also has fresh bouquets of flowers on tap, ready for any occasion.

Tara, the owner, has an obsession with our floral brethren and can’t stop (won’t stop) wowing the world with her designs. To make it even more ethereal and magical, she stocks her shop with flower-related gifts and goodies. From street ready gardening hats to books on how to mix watercolors to match your favorite flower’s color palette to notebooks, candles and art prints – phew, boy do I love this store. Idaho Springs is a quick and gorgeous 35 minute trip from Downtown, Evergreen.
Fashion & Style
Seventy West, Evergreen CO
Seventy West • Get Directions
It’s tough to find on-trend and clothes in our neck of the woods, but Seventy West delivers.
Curator and owner, Laura Coates, keeps us locals in tune with what’s happening fashion-wise in the rest of the world. I love her passion for fashion and, above all, her taste. Laura always has an eye for what’s new and next and tailors her selections to perfection for the Colorado girlie in all of us.
Note: 70 West carries little girl clothes only. No boys stuff here! As a mom of two boys, I can totally appreciate this… Us women need our own space. My step-daughter and I would have dropped into 70 West, picked matching new outfits and marched out with memories for a lifetime. P.S. Laura also carries Beauty and the Biker jewelry.
White Rabbit Hat Bar & Wood Creations, Evergreen CO (next to 70 West)

Hop into White Rabbit and get yourself a new hat + a hat bar experience (decorate it to your liking) or check out custom woodturning projects by the owner, Sara. You can also shop for vintage pieces she curates next to newer finds. Sara’s shop is absolutely inspiring. You’ll walk in and feel like you’ve walked back in time. I can’t say enough about this gem (and I have the hats to prove it).
Sweetwater Boutique
Cute Colorado style abounds in Sweetwater. She’s a go-to for the cutest in-season dresses, sweaters, tops and bottoms. All of the daily basics you need with tons of accessories to choose from. She features a lot of fantastic Colorado-based jewelry artists as well. Chelsea, the owner, is so passionate about what she carries. Follow her instagram for updates on what she has in store.

Highway Queen Vintage & Consignment
This place is absolute magic (and your finds will be, too). Consign or shop at this epic vintage store.

Ummm…. Where does one begin? At the outset, you may think there’s only ’60’s and ’70’s polyester or rayon inside, but step in and dig to find treasures from the 80’s, 90’s and early Y2K (that’s what the kids say these days, isn’t it). Here’s what’s most incredible about Highway Queen:
Their goodies are priced appropriately. Most vintage and consignment shops overprice their finds. Not Highway Queen. They price to move. Which leads me to the second best thing – there’s always something new. Last but not least, owners Sarah and Jesse are magic. If you’re lucky you’ll find yourself in the shop on a night when they feature artists or are just hanging out in the back being the coolest chicks in Evergreen.
Prize Emporium, Kittredge / Evergreen (on the line between us)
Prize Emporium & Antiques
Vintage Home Goods that will make you swoon without killing the budget.

Holy Thrift Goddess this place is perfection for vintage home goods and gifts. Someday, when I’m a made woman, I’ll be able to go in and just buy everything. The owners have style, taste and curate it all so you don’t have to go hunting. From Pendleton blankets to vintage leather satchels, mid-center vases and home goods, from floor to ceiling, Prize Emporium has done the heavy lifting for you.
Their items are one level above thrift… all curated to perfection and priced to sell not to sit. Highly, highly recommend.
How about we just don’t tell everyone down the hill?
Other Thrift Obsessions (for the hard core among us)
ECHO Thrift Store
Overpriced thrift experience imho but for a very good cause, so, it doesn’t bother me. But every once in a long while you’ll find an irreplaceable treasure. For me, it’s my mustard Jones New York blazer I found for $19.99. Proceeds go to our local food shelter.
EAPL Thrift Store
Support our local shelter pets and shop EAPL (Evergreen Animal Protection League) - rock bottom prices. Same as ECHO though, you won’t find something every time, but when you do…
Habitat Restore, Blue Spruce Evergreen
This is my go to place for remarkable pieces of furniture at crazy low prices. I often strike out, but when I find something it’s a jack pot. We once found a Restoration Hardware kitchen island for $450, normally priced at $6500. So, yeah, might be worth a pop in every once in a while.
NOTE to my readers:
I haven’t been to every single shop in Evergreen, Colorado (and there are many), so, please, leave a comment with your favorite spot. There are many I didn’t have time to mention, but that I frequent and love so very much.
Wherever you end up in Evergreen, you’ll have an absolutely magnificent time.
